What ist Korean Hand Acupuncture ?
As the name implifies, acupuncture techniques are applied on the hand. All traditional acupuncture points as well as all meridians can be found on the hand also. This has been discovered in 1971 by Dr. Yu, Tae Woo, a korean physician. In the meantime this method is practiced in many countries.
Basically the palm represents the front side of the human body and the backside of the hand represents the back of the human body. The middle finger represents the head, index- and ring finger stand for the upper extremities, thumb and little finger for the lower extremities. When you hold the hand upright with the palm looking forward then the middle line on the middle finger divides the two body sides: the left side and the right side of the body. The palm represents the abdomen.
Differences between Korean Hand Acupuncture and Traditional Body Acupuncture
1. - Hand Acupuncture can be applied without any special preparations because the hands of the patient are easily to treat for the physician.
2. - The effect of the treatment is strong and comes quickly. Side effects seldom occur.
3. - Hand Acupuncture ist not dangerous, because no inner organs can be injured directly through the needles. Moreover, the technique of pinning the needles is easy.
4. - Hand Acupuncture not only is a local therapy but an overall regulation therapy of the organs, because all meridians or their corresponding partners can be found in the hand.
