Which Kinds of Hand Acupuncture are there?
Needles In most cases needles are used. Needles for hand Acuncture are very small and thin and are set with an applicator, not by hand. The needles do not penetrate the skin very deeply and therefore one does not feel much pain. When treating children an applicator with a fixed needle can be used and the depth of penetration can be fixed also, so the needle does not penetrate the skin and just stimulates the point of acupuncture.
Moxa Moxatherapy is used when chronic diseases are diagnosed. Moxa can be used more than one time a day. Acupuncture points are stimulated by heat when using Moxa. Small rolls made of pressed herbs are lit and the emerging heat is focused on the acupuncture point konzentrieren.
T-Chim-Needles When suffering from acute pain or when a longer stimulation is needed T-Chim-Needles are used. T-Chim Needles are very small neddles which are locally fixed with a small pice of tape and can remain for two or three hours in the skin.
Magnetic Treatment If the patient suffers from a light disease the points of acupuncture can be stimulated by small magnets that are fixed at the point.
Stimulation by electric current Stimulation of the acupunkture points can be made by electric current also. Positiv current will increase the flow of energy in the meridians while negativ energy will dampen the flow of energy and is used when the diagnose has shown that there is too much energy on that point.
Ap-Bong-Method The Ap-Bong-Method is a combination of acupressure and acupunkture, that many patients feel to be very pleasant. A small metal thorn is put on the point of acupressure and this point is stimulated by applying light pressure. To increase the effect, various metals can be used that have a different electric charge and conductivity (positive oder negative).
Other Methods There are metallic massage rolls, which can be used for prophylactic therapy by rolling them on the palm of the hand. Various acupressure points are stimulated this way.
